On September 3, 1945 Jimmie Burris and wife Leola Burris welcomed into the world their third son, Charles Lee Burris. They raised young Charles Lee in a  humble and loving home with his two older brother Jimmie, Jr. and William in Baton Rouge, La. He leadeth me beside the still waters… He restoreth my soul… As a young boy growing up, work was not something he shied away from.  He started shining shoes in downtown Baton Rouge at the tender age of 5. This effort continued until his senior year in college. more
